Dear readers,
My first collection—The Sticky Notes Project—was born in a quiet moment far from home, while I was living in Amsterdam. At the time, I was struggling to say the things that mattered most. The project became my way of speaking—without needing to speak.
Through long conversations with friends and brief exchanges with strangers, I began to notice something we all seem to share: we leave notes. Small, often unnoticed gestures—a mother’s scribble tucked into breakfast, a father’s folded message inside a gift, a partner’s words slipped between petals of a bouquet. They are quiet, but they say everything.
For me, these notes became layers—handwritten, folded, stacked—on sculptural paper paintings. Each one carried something I couldn’t say aloud, or may never have the chance to. In building these layers, I found a voice—not just my own, but yours too.
Now that I’ve returned to Vietnam, I find myself surrounded by friends and family who also carry unspoken words. That quiet familiarity inspired me to create my second collection: NOTE by Phích.
This collection is not just my story—it’s a mirror. A space for the words we’ve written but never sent, the thoughts we keep returning to, the messages we long to share with those we love, those who’ve hurt us, and those who’ve helped us heal.
If these notes find you, I hope they offer a sense of comfort and connection. I hope they remind you that even in silence, your feelings are valid. And that sometimes, the smallest gestures carry the most meaning.
With tenderness,
Phích.
